“I’ve Been Working to Improvethe Community Since I Was 18″

While searching for something else on the internet I came across this moving speech that Emmanuel Faber, CEO of Danone Yogurt, gave to his alma mater, the HEC Paris Graduate School of Business at their commencement ceremony in 2016. (If you would prefer to read a copy of the speech, you can find it here: Faber speech.)  The themes of Faber’s speech track closely with the issues I deal with on this website.  The first part of the speech is in French with English subtitles, then he switches to English about halfway through.

Faber is working hard to practice what he preaches as he leads Danone.  He has worked closely with Muhammad Yunus to have Danone and all its companies registered as a social business.  In this way, Danone has to balance shareholders financial interests with the benefit it brings to individuals, communities and the planet.  You can read more about Faber’s view of Danone as a Public Benefit Corporation in this article he wrote for LinkedIn.

If you haven’t already, I highly recommend taking the time to view this video.
